AMBAR NAVARRO (USA)
Pee Girls (2017), Photographic print $100
Pee Girls explores the inherent intimacy between women. When hanging out in the bathroom or changing in front of each other, women can find themselves relating to each other in this concealed space. By using nude miniatures and yellow paper, Navarro has contrasted both the intimate and the grotesque.
Ambar Navarro is an LA based film director, animator, and artist. Originally from San Antonio, TX she moved to attend the California Institute of the Arts where she received her B.F.A. in Experimental Animation ('15).
Navarro’s work explores online culture as well as incorporating traditional Mexican imagery in miniature still lifes or video. Her work has been featured at The Tate Modern, PBS, Nylon Japan, and NPR.
