Moments (2015)

Single channel video

Moments examines the layered boundaries between the physical and the emotional, between subject and force. Time is explored experientially in this piece. McDermott examines how bodies are constantly changing and moving, further highlighting emotional states of transition. As well as considering how the body and material relate; both distorted, fragmented and in a constant state of becoming.

Anna McDermott is a Melbourne-based artist who adopts a multi-disciplinary practice. Through video, painting, sculpture and installation, her work engages the relationship of bodies and material. Doing so in an effort to examine tensions, thresholds and boundaries and consequently revealing the body as it is sensed and experienced.
